I'm Back!

What was intended to be a short break from the blog while I made final changes to the book, became almost two years after a fall, surgery, and four months of hospitalization. But in all of that, the book was completed, edited and finally published.

Skipping past the personal, much about the book has also changed, beginning with the title which is now A Civil War Family At Home At War I decided this is more descriptive of the content.

Another change is the discovery and inclusion of material from a later memoir by Jane McCartney.

A final question was on publishing. I know the process from agent to publisher is usually time consuming and I am, at nearly 96, short on time. I believe the book has merit and I very much wanted to avoid it ending as only some computer printed pages. Based on that, A Civil War Family is now available on Amazon.
